A Call To Fast

Alarmed, Jehoshaphat resolved to inquire of the Lord, and he proclaimed a fast for all Judah. The people of Judah came together to seek help from the Lord; indeed, they came from every town in Judah to seek him. – 2 Chronicles 20:3-4 (NIV)

For those who feel led to join us in fasting this week, please do so. We will participate in a 3-day solid food fast beginning Wednesday, June 23rd at midnight (so Tuesday night) until Friday, June 25th at 2:00pm for the purposes of humbling ourselves before God and drawing closer to Him in prayer as we pray for Revival and Spiritual Awakening for our own hearts, our homes, our churches, our community, our nation, and our world! We indeed need together to seek help from the Lord.

If for any reason you are unable to do a complete solid-food fast, please ask the Lord for direction as to what you can fast…it can be one meal a day, it can be al meat…there are any number of ways to adapt your fast to your personal abilities. But please remember, the purpose is to NOT depend on our own strength and ability, but to sacrificially and utterly depend on the Lord for His strength and provision. And May God be glorified!
